How you doin’?
Sorry, had to do it. I mean, look at that cheesin’ picture. Anyway…
Hi, I’m Christine. Pretty sure we’ve covered that already. I’m a writer with a soft spot for food, travel, and the occasional existential crisis.
I started out working in F&B for over two decades. So yes, I’ve seen the dark underbelly of brunch service, and yes, I can still carry three plates with one arm.
I studied English Lit and Film at Georgia State University, which means I can write a killer sentence and explain the deeper symbolism in a Coen Brothers film — whether you asked or not.
Before going freelance full-time, I spent four years as editor-in-chief of TheMilSource, a Hong Kong-based media outlet covering global news, Hong Kong lifestyle, and Human Stories. I managed an international team of writers, edited thousands of articles, and lived in a near-constant state of Slack pings and caffeine. It was fun. It was chaos. I survived.
My writing has covered everything from destination guides to culinary history to questionable trends going viral on TikTok. While storytelling is my first love, I also develop content for brands that want to sound more human and less like the robots that will eventually take over (kidding…kinda).
In 2019, I sold everything and moved to Costa Rica with my elderly cat (RIP Kitty) and a suitcase stuffed with 50 pounds of prescription cat food. Now I live in San José with my husband and two fur kids, Charlie (cat) and Yala (dog).
(Oh, and my awesome avatar was done by my friend Josh over at Lattaland.com)
